I closed the window. Did the app stop?

No. If the S&S icon is still in the menu bar, choose Open app. To stop reminders completely, choose Quit Sip & Sass.

A reminder has not appeared

1. Check the menu-bar status for a pause, Focus session, meeting protection or quiet hours.
2. Confirm the reminder type is enabled: water is in Reminders; eye rest and movement are in Focus & breaks.
3. Check the configured interval. Logging water restarts the water clock.
4. If you just woke or unlocked the Mac, allow a fresh interval. The app does not deliver a missed-reminder backlog.
5. Review Settings for optional safeguards or away detection.
6. Check trial or license status. Expired access stops scheduled paid reminders, without deleting history.

It thinks I am in a call or away

Microphone use can come from dictation or another recording app. Idle detection can treat long reading without input as absence. Disable the relevant optional safeguard if its signal does not match your work. Use explicit Focus or meeting protection for deliberate quiet time.

I need the character gone immediately

Click the character to snooze: 10 minutes for water or 5 minutes for a break. This does not log anything. Use the menu-bar pause for a longer interruption-free period.

A break did not count as water

That is expected. Eye rest and movement have separate break records. A timer is not proof of eye rest or exercise, and completing a break does not mean you drank water.

My license cannot activate

Check your internet connection, copy the key without extra spaces, and confirm it is a Sip & Sass key. If the app says verification is not configured, the development build cannot validate purchases yet. Repeatedly retrying the key will not fix that configuration.

If both device slots are used, deactivate an old Mac before activating a new one. For purchase or recovery help, email [email protected] with the order reference and app version. Never publish the full key.

Launch at login is not working

Keep one stable copy of the app in Applications. In Settings, use Refresh login status and follow any macOS approval message. Do not leave login launch pointing at a temporary build or downloaded archive.

macOS says the app is unverified

Check that the download came from the official product page. The customer release is awaiting Developer ID signing and notarization. Do not disable Gatekeeper to work around an unidentified or altered download.

What should I include in a bug report?

Include your macOS version, Apple chip, app version, selected companion, reminder type and what you expected. A short description of your interval and enabled safeguards helps. Remove private notes and license keys before sharing an image or log.
